A year ago this time our son Ryan, was planning on starting his first year in college, attending Georgetown University in Washington DC at their School of Foreign Service.  At the same time he was looking for scholarships to offset some of the high costs of college.  The East Valley Republican Women received an application from Ryan, a Palm Desert High School Student, and followed up by awarding him with a scholarship.

Therefore, I thought you and the ladies might be interested in knowing that Ryan came through his first year on the dean’s list as an honor student.

These past few months Ryan has been sending applications looking for internships in the Washington DC area for the summer months.   Usually these are not easily obtained by freshmen as the organizations tend to want upperclassman.  However he was thrilled, as were we, to hear that he was accepted for a position working for the Republican National Committee (RNC) starting in June.

We wanted to thank you again for helping our son and students like him.

Sincerely,

Jim Sheehy
