THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Thank You to the members of the Scholarship Committee:
Jeanne Ahrens, Bonnie Bowie, Luretta Eide, Peggy Engel,
Ella Manor, Vick Robertson. It took many hours, much energy and anguish in making decisions before winners were selected.
Every applicant was deserving. A packet was given to each
committee member with a folder for each school.
Guidelines and score sheets were provided to help in the
selections of a winner for the Charlotte Mousel and for each
high school. The committee met, added up the scores and
East Valley winners were decided. Come to the June meeting
and meet these wonderful young people.

EAST VALLEY SCHOLARSHIPS
36 Scholarship applications have been received from 5 High Schools: Coachella Valley, Desert Mirage, Indio,
La Quinta and Palm Desert.
The committee evaluating these applications have a difficult job as so many of them are excellent and all are in need.
The winners will be featured at the June meeting. It is hoped that many of you can be there to congratulate the winners.

CRITERIA: Submit a typed, double spaced essay, not to exceed 1,000 words, with your thoughts on the topic:

“Why is the U.S. Constitution unique in human history and why should each U.S. citizen value its contents?”

The content of the essay should reflect your knowledge of the Constitution, and what the Constitution means to you.
