| Coachella Valley summers are usually a time to slow down and regroup. Because this is an important election year, our valley is alive with activities. Many of our East Valley members are busy either working on their own campaigns or on one or more of the Republican candidate campaigns. Those working on their own campaigns include: For Palm Desert City Council Sheila Gilligan Jan Harnik For La Quinta City Council Linda Evans Terry Henderson Working on Campaigns to elect Republicans: Carly Fiorina for the United States Senate - Claudette Pais serving as Inland Empire Co-Chair and Coachella Valley Chair for Carly Fiorina Mary Bono for the United States Congress Patricia Scully Field Representative now working in the Hemet Office and serving in the Palm Desert Campaign Headquarters East Valley also has members currently serving on City Councils, Palm Desert—Jean Benson; La Quinta—Terry Henderson; Indio—Lupe Ramos Watson; and Associate members Gary Tomak serving on the Desert Sands School Board and Gary Jeandron serving on the Palm Springs School Board. How about every East Valley member, including associates, join some activity to help elect Republicans in November, starting with local offices and boards all the way up to the federal government? If this wonderful country we have inherited through the sacrifices of our hard working founding fathers and ancestors is important to us, then we must put our hands, energy, voices and resources to work to get the job done. Volunteer somewhere to help! The Mary Bono and East Valley headquarters are good places to start. Hope to see you September 13 at Desert Falls Country Club to gear up for the final stretch to election day November 2 |
