Join us on Saturday, January 30th from 12:45 pm to 4 pm
for an informative trip to the General Patton Memorial Museum
in Chiriaco Summit.

Walter McIntyre, Corporate Development and Marketing Consultant
for the Museum, will personally give us a tour of the facility
after we see a 30 minute film of actual WW II footage.

For the first time in the history of U.S. warfare, we knew within
one month of entering WW II that out troops would have to
engage in a desert campaign to protect the Suez Canal
from the threat of German Field Marshall Rommel,
in what later would be called Operation Torch.
The area selected by General Patton in the California/Arizona
deserts encompassed 18,000 square miles, making it the largest military installation and maneuver area in the world.
One million men were trained there.

Attention Veterans:
If you served in the Military between 1959-1975
then you are a Vietnam Veteran and the Patton Museum
would like your name etched into the black granite plaques
that make up the West Coast Vietnam Wall.
Details are available at the Museum or online.

We will meet at the parking lot to the east of Rooms Express,
78-740 Highway 111, La Quinta.
With every paid ticket, a $5.00 discount coupon will be given
for Gadabout Tours applicable to any tour they show on the
attached schedule.  Bottled water and a snack on the return trip
are included. Cost for the event is $28.00 per person and is
payable at the time of departure.

Please contact a Support Our Troops Committee Member
for your reservation. Please RSVP by January 25.
