As you may already know, the Obama Administration is transferring GITMO detainees from a safe and secure naval base in Cuba, to the United States for trial. The first terrorist to be transferred to the United States is the self-proclaimed mastermind of the September 11th attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Mohammed killed thousands of our citizens in an attempt to bring down our system of freedom and democracy. He should not be allowed the same rights and privileges of American citizens. Terrorists should be tried by a military court, without the glare of publicity and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Last week, the Administration entered into negotiations with the State of Illinois to purchase a prison to become the “Guantanamo North”. California could be next!

To fight against this Administration, I co-sponsored the Keep Terrorists Out of America Act (H.R. 2294), which requires the Obama Administration to seek the permission of state governors and legislatures before transferring any terrorists to their respective states.

I also started a petition on my website, www.marybonomack.com, to keep GITMO Detainees out of California. This petition sends a clear message to the Administration that we do not want these dangerous criminals in our prisons or on our streets.

Now is the time for Californians to band together and oppose the reckless behavior of our government. Now is the time for real change, not really good rhetoric. Please continue to fight hard for the Republican Party in the District. I promise to continue my fight for you, your family, and this Country’s future in Washington.
